Assist military personnel to transition to civilian life by providing career counselling, advice and guidance

Your new company
This federal government department is responsible for national security. Our client is seeking a professional career counsellor to provide credible advice and guidance on all matters relating to the interpretation and application of transition policy and eligibility for transition support

Your new role
As an APS4 Career Counsellor, you will be working in Transition Centre and assisting your new team with all elements of military transition process documentation and provision of information regarding seeking employment and other related transition support services. You will be working in a collaborative team and actively involved in providing administrational, procedural and operational support. Your role will involve collection and analysis of data and provision of assistance in the preparation of written submissions, inquiry outcomes, briefs, corporate reports and other departmental correspondence.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, be able to demonstrate research, data collection, analysis and interpretation abilities and have experience with managing Departmental correspondence processes. Previous experience as providing employment advice and career counselling based on relevant legislation and work practices in a military career transition context will see you thrive in this role.

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and will possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a (NV1, NV2 or Baseline) personnel security clearance.
