A permanent opportunity for a HR Advisor to work and live in Alice Springs

Your new company
A local council based in Alice Springs has partnered with Hays Recruitment to support them in the recruitment of their HR Advisor to commence in mid-January 2019.

Your new role
This role will see you responsible for providing effective and timely HR advice to the management team and their employees. Your key responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Supervise, plan and coordinate all recruitment for the organisation including contract negotiations, onboarding and performance management
  • Respond to requests for assistance from Management and or Supervisors on all HR matters and ensure that they operate to appropriate HR practices with regulatory, legislative and organisational requirements
  • Provide advise and support to employees on all aspects of the HR function including employee relations, performance management, grievances and compliant handling
  • Provide advise to all employee on the organisations Enterprise Agreement and other industrial advise, policy and procedures
  • Support management and provide guidance on performance management including reviews, under-performance issues and misconduct
  • Under the direction of the HR Manager, provide support on ad hoc projects allocated to the team include review of policy and procedures
  • Input and maintenance of accurate data in eDIS.
  • Promote quality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you must hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a similar discipline. You will be able to demonstrate recent experience in a similar role, ideally within a local council. You will have sound knowledge of Fair Work and NT Legislation and be a person who is able to work well collaboratively and within a small team. You will have a hands on approach to your work and enjoys supporting your colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and urgent requirements are resolved. Advanced computer skills and NT drivers licence are essential.
