Our client, a global manufacturer who is currently undertaking a significant change within their HR operations require a strong, resilient & capable HR practitioner to join them on their journey.

Reporting to the Head of HR, acting as the 2IC you will be providing commercially focused strategic and operational HR advice and support to line managers and staff, assisting with all HR responsibilities associated with running a busy HR department, displaying a high level of initiative and customer service to internal and external customers and displaying superior initiative, organisational and problem solving skills.

This role is for a hands-on operator, someone who can really in-grain themselves within the company and the stakeholders. You must be able to carry out the following duties but certainly not limited to:

  • Act as an impartial and trusted Business Partner in all people related matters, providing professional, business-focused HR service and advice to managers and employees
  • Provide recruitment expertise and support and second opinion for most recruitment
  • Coach and mentor managers to be effective, consistent, and empowered people leaders
  • Display confidence and competence in people, commercial, legal and technical areas of HR
  • Provide day-to-day performance advice, coaching and guidance to line managers with a focus on positive outcomes for both the manager and employee
  • Assist with the management and negotiation of EBA's and interpretation of Awards and act as contact for Unions
  • Analyse trends and metrics with other HR team members to develop solutions, programs, and policies In conjunction with the National HR and Compliance Manager, provide accurate industrial and employee relations advice and services to the Company
  • Support the development,, implementation and roll out of compliance and commercial training requirements internally and externally

For this critical role you must have the following skills and experience:

  • Undergraduate or Post Graduate degree in Human Resources or related discipline, or relevant HR experience
  • 6+ years' experience in a Human Resources generalist and/or business partnering role
  • Experience in industrial relations with a working knowledge of industrial relations and employee relations theory, principles, policies, legislation, and practices
  • Strong recruitment & performance management experience in blue and white collar roles
  • The operational requirements of this position require that you maintain a current State Drivers Licence
  • Strategic thinker, able to provide strategic advice, develop options, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems.
  • Able to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with internal and external networks.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills. Able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking.
