A permanent role for an experienced HR Lead to join a global mining company

Your new company
Our client, a leading global mining organisation whose objective is to make a difference by developing natural resources to improve people's lives and for future generations is currently seeking an experienced HR Lead to join their Northern Territory site on a permanent basis.

This role is FIFO from Darwin or Cairns and is on a 4:3 day roster

Your new role
As the HR Lead, you will provide strategic leadership and direction through the effective execution and development of people processes including building strong and efficient teams and creating a united culture. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources you will work on complex matters including the implementation of continuous improvement strategies within the team and the greater NT operations. In this role you will lead a team of HR Business Partners to support the delivery of organisational development solutions and oversee the employee and industrial relations portfolio. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to continuously improve current policies, processes and HR tasks to ensure the HR function is operating in the most efficient way possible. This role will also include:

  • Driving improvement opportunities to simplify and standardise employee lifecycle activities
  • Identify, build and assist line management in developing employee talent solutions
  • Maintain relevant local governance including within with senior directors and business partners to resolve escalated people related queries and governing quality of HR advisement.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience in managing and enhancing an operational HR team to maximise output. Your background will be preferably within the mining or construction industries and you will be experienced in aligning HR operational processes to people strategies. You have been successful in leading a proactive HR team and have previous experience in successfully planning, developing and implementing strategic plans by providing expert knowledge in workplace legislation, industrial instruments and processes that identify and mitigate risks to organisations and employees.

You will have excellent leading and mentoring skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will understand the importance of building capability within an organisation and have successfully achieved this by using a collaborative HR approach. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Industrial Relations are essential and previous experience and knowledge of HR SAP would be beneficial
