My client is a well-established global business operating in a niche software area where it has significant market share.  Australia is a relatively small office in the Asia Pacific Region and this newly created role will operate as 'stand-alone' HR Manager dealing with all levels of queries.  

In this role your primary internal clients will be three senior business leaders who require low volume support, but they look for a high level of service in any people matters.   The role is very generalist and key responsibilities will include - 
  • Employee Relations
  • Recruitment and Retention
  • HR Operations / Reporting
  • APAC HR Projects
  • Payroll Preparation 
Not included above but of vital importance is a 'business partnering' approach to the position - building relationship with the local leadership to support them with their people and allow them to achieve their business goals.  The role will also work closely with the local Training & Development Manager.

Although the role is the only HR person in Sydney, it will very much be part of a cohesive Asia Pacific team, so an ability to work with remote colleagues work with remote colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have done a similar small company / small local entity HR role at manager level.   It could also suit an advisor level candidate who has owned end to end processes and is seeking the autonomy / responsibility of a manager level role.
