HR Manager - Contract

Our global professional corporate services client is seeking a new stand-alone HR Manager to join their APAC Head Office in Sydney's CBD. You will be working with a smaller client group, across multiple countries, in a hands-on, high-touch environment. You will manages the effective implementation of global HR initiatives for the region, reporting to the Global Head of HR based overseas, as well as the local Sydney based APAC MD.

This will initially be a 3-6 month contract with a potential view to extension. This role will be offered on a flexible basis, so that could be 3 or 4 full days per week, or reduced hours across the 5 working days. 

This role will see you: 
  • Responsible for all generalist HR functions for the region including advising the executive leadership team;
  • Provides employee relations support, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action and performance improvement actions;
  • Conducts investigations regarding discrimination and unfair employment practices;
  • Assists management in planning, development, implementation and evaluation activities;
  • Studies feedback and develops strategies that balance the needs of employees and management with relation to employee services and policy alignment;
  • Evaluates the status and productivity of HR programs and recommends changes to improve efficiency, cultural enhancements and cost-effectiveness; 
  • Develops and conducts training for management and employees on a variety of issues including, but not limited to, performance management, leadership coaching, diversity, etc.  
To be successful in this role you will be an ambitious and committed HR generalist, who is driven to achieve results and can proven work within a high touch professional corporate services environment. More specifically you will also have: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources related discipline or Business Management; 
  • HR Generalist experience with exposure to directly advising executive management on HR and business matters; 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; 
  • Highly developed presentation skills; 
  • High energy, personal presence and maturity as components of leadership ability in order to facilitate the best decision making and values; 
  • Ability to think and act independently with minimum supervision; 
  • Proven ability to function in a high touch, fast-paced environment; 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of service to internal and external customers;
  • Solid business acumen and basic knowledge of financial and operational principles;
  • Personal and professional integrity of the highest order;
