Human Resources Officer job in Southbank. Provides workforce and employment support to HR department.

Your new company
A public sector organisation that supports residents of the local area offering services to the community. Our client is looking to add a member of staff to their Human Resources team due to growth within the organisation.

Your new role
You will conduct a variety of supportive duties, including those associated with recruitment and the coordination of employee training. In this role you will maintain the HRIS system and manage paperwork associated to the performance management process. You will report directly to the People and Development Business Partner to support the wider H.R. team, as well as the rest of the organisations workforce. You will have various duties being involved in Recruitment and Selection, Employee movements, Employment terms and conditions, position descriptions, Workforce Planning and job evaluation, as well as coordinating help desk activities and being first point of contact for the people helpdesk.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have worked in a HR officer role previously that involved a number of generalist HR transactional tasks. You will be an excellent time manager, able to manage several tasks and be proactive in your approach to work. Tertiary qualifications in either Business or Human Resources are desirable. You will have

  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment and employment conditions/contracts
  • Highly developed communication skills including the proven ability to confidently address issues with stakeholders, using influence and to negotiate shared solutions.
  • An ability to quickly grasp an understanding of the organisational needs and the issues and pressures to which the organisation has to respond.
  • Exceptional customer service and effective time management
  • Excellent computer skills
