HR Workplace Relations Advisor - Contract

Our client, a services provider within the public sector requires a strong HR practitioner with heavy experience across workplace investigations and current legislation requirements.

Reporting into the complaints manager, in the Complaints Management Team within Workplace Relations and collaborates with the Integrity Unit (Legal and Insurance Division). You will be responsible for managing existing complaint files, assess new complaints and issues, and provide authoritative advice on complex matters. You will also work to enable the successful management and conclusion of complaints, grievances and disputes in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and enterprise agreements. This position performs a key function in ensuring high quality processes and outcomes which are compliant with the regulatory framework.

You key focus will be and not limited to:

  • Provide support to the Complaints Manager in the active management of existing complaint files to ensure continuous progress of matters towards a conclusion
  • To review, record and assess new complaints to identify any potential breaches of legislation, policies and relevant enterprise agreements and to provide general advice to the relevant parties,
  • Collaborate and consult with the Integrity Unit and the Legal team to develop strategies towards resolution of complex and sensitive complaints.
  • Under limited direction, apply specialist knowledge of complaints handling and provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders as required.

To be successful you must:

  • Extensive experience in undertaking complex and sensitive investigations consistent with the relevant legislative and industrial requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and cooperative relationship with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level organisational and time-management skills with an ability to manage and coordinate a range of functions and projects, often complex in nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and analyse information, including legislation and regulations, to develop professional documents and reports, and provide authoritative advice.
