Relocation assistance provided to Mount Isa for a full time permanent Human Resources Manager to lead HR team

Your new company
Your employer is a large health service provider with main clinics in Mount Isa and satellite operations spanning North Queensland which service over 11,000 Indigenous persons. A broad range of primary health care professionals including General Practitioners, Nurses, Aboriginal health Specialists, Allied Health Practitioners, and Maternal & Child Health Clinicians are employed by the organisation to address the health needs of of the Aboriginal people residing in Mount Isa and the North West and Lower Gulf regions of Queensland. The organisation prides itself on employing 62% Indigenous staff and is currently experiencing a phase of exponential growth with the view to expand the scope and frequency of services provided.

Your new role
Reporting into the Director of Corporate services, your position is key to achieving strategic and operational business objectives through the provision of HR services, systems and support to Managers across these key areas:

  • Planning, Reporting and Internal Consultancy
  • Employment Services and Inductions
  • Remuneration and Contracts
  • Performance Management
  • HR Policy and Procedure Development
  • Workforce Learning & Development
  • Quality Management System Improvement
You will manage a small team comprised of two Human Resources Officers and you will foster relationships between all work teams across the business and ensure effective external supplier and contractor management practices.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the HR Manager role, you have demonstrated experience providing Generalist Human Resources services across a medium to large sized organisation and have tertiary qualifications such as Bachelor's Degree or higher to support your years of experience. Your open-door policy and team oriented approach will enable you to fit comfortably into this role which requires constant follow up and liaising with employees and line managers on both the clinical and administrative sides of the business. Given the exponential growth of the organisation, you will play a critical role in supporting the HR Officers to recruit a vast number of clinical and administration positions. Knowledge of HR best practices and worked experience in the Aboriginal Health and/or Not For Profit Sector will make you a stand out candidate for this job.

What you'll get in return
In exchange for your commitment to the organisation and to Mount Isa as a greater community, you will be remunerated with a competitive annual salary circa $95,000 p.a. + superannuation and salary packaging is available. Your relocation expenses (where applicable) will be negotiated upon contract, you will receive 2 flights to an Australian city and 5 weeks annual leave per annum, and 1 RDO per month. A Laptop and Phone will also be supplied for your ongoing use. This is a Monday through Friday position, however occasional overnight travel to remote areas via small charter plane will be required and all related expenses are fully covered by the employer.
