An outstanding opportunity has presented itself to join our client Bell Bay Aluminium in an exciting time of growth and change. Bell Bay Aluminium is part of Pacific Aluminium, a subsidiary of the global Rio Tinto Group, and is situated on the mouth of the Tamar River, approximately five kilometres from George Town and 45 kilometres from the City of Launceston in Bell Bay, Northern Tasmania.

They are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic HR professional to partner with the business to provide exceptional generalist HR support to the executive and Operations group and manage a small team of L and D and HR professionals.

As a key member of the leadership team and reporting directly to the Manager Operations Services, you will work closely with the site leaders to deliver a range of HR activities including end to end implementation of change initiatives, deliver on key projects as well as the day to day HR and L and D operations.

You will consider yourself a smart, commercial and experienced HR professional, who has considerable experience in developing high quality HR solutions and building strong relationships. You will utilise your experience and lead your team to effectively partner with the business, create a positive culture and build capability across the organisation.

Key areas of responsibility include

  • Establishing sound relationships and engaging with key stakeholders within the business
  • Demonstrate strength in Employee Relations/Industrial Relations.
  • Provide HR strategy, advice, direction and consultation to the business.
  • Partner with the business leaders across all areas of HR including performance management, recruitment and retention, engagement and remuneration reviews.
  • Actively promote a positive and consultative HR style to the broader business.
  • Build and actively promote diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Partner with the business to ensure an effective and innovative L and D delivery.
  • Participate and contribute as a change champion within the business in line with the business, growth and change strategies.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience within a similar role/environment, outstanding relationship building, coaching and influencing skills. You will also have a solutions-focused approach and deal with issues and change in a proactive, positive and dynamic way. You will be degree qualified in Business and/or Human Resources and previous experience working with a 24/7 client group, with a union presence, will be highly regarded.
