Learning and Development Manager - Contract

Provide management of a community program that ensures the well being of Councillors in Victoria

Your new company
This local NFP based in the Melbourne CBD provides overall support to a range of council services in Victoria. The program provides professional development events, conferences, and training opportunities to cater for the varying needs of the participants

Your new role
You will be responsible for the overall management of the program for one of the community services, driving the overall learning and development of its participants. Working closely with the events and communication staff as well as an external body to ensure the continued development of the program.
Your daily oversight and responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the delivery and quality control of the training for the program , overseeing the content, facilitation and coordination of the training. Managing the sub contractors and facilitators schedule and following up on potential opportunities to partner with new providers.
  • Evaluate effectiveness in learning and the events held
  • Manage the awards and scholarships
  • Manage the relationship with external providers
  • Manage marketing and promotion of the events and communication around new initiatives


What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE for a 6 month assignment, starting asap. You will also need to be able to provide demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Qualification in training and assessment, HR, Training, Teaching, etc
  • Experience in working in the adult education space
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Vic drivers licence
  • Ability to get a clean police check
  • Positive and engaging management style and experience managing members of staff
