Payroll Manager - Contract

This organisation has experienced significant growth through numerous mergers and acquisitions. They are a leader in their sector and provide a portfolio of integrated services and exceptional customer care. They have a national footprint and have recently expanded internationally with further plans for growth.

Due to internal projects that are intended to enhance employee and customer experience we now have a Payroll Manager position available on an initial fixed term contract basis. Reporting to the HR Shared Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in effective management of a large payroll covering Australia and New Zealand. You will liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders in order to position the function to accommodate future growth. Duties will include:

  • End to end payroll
  • Month end / year end financial reporting
  • Payroll Tax, superannuation, Leasing, Work Cover
  • Exception reports analysis
  • Interpret awards and EA's
  • Coordinate, direct and control payroll preparation, processing and distribution
  • Ensure the provision of timely, professional service standards to all employees
  • Use your system experience to ensure staff are well trained and payroll systems are running at their best
  • Identify process improvements and implement these changes using your strong system knowledge
  • Reporting and data collation utilising your intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

You will have previous Payroll experience at a senior level managing small to medium teams. You have strong exposure to payroll strategy and execution and can navigate your way around Payroll related continuous improvement projects. You have strong working knowledge gained in a large service driven environment and can execute on process improvement strategies with compliance in mind. Experience with Chris 21 is essential.

You will be an experienced manager able to make decisions and use your analytical skills to sort through issues and also to mitigate any high risk scenarios. We are looking for a leader who will empower, coach and develop their employees whilst rolling up the sleeves and being hands on when required.
