People & Culture Advisor - Fixed Term

A maternity leave replacement opportunity has become available in our Melbourne-based People & Culture (P&C) Team. Reporting in to a supportive and collaborative Head of P&C and working alongside another P&C Advisor, you will be providing generalist support across the employment lifecycle.  Your primary areas of focus will be on partnering with the business to successfully manage end to end recruitment in house and providing employee relations advice.

As an experienced HR/P&C Advisor, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualified in HR/Commerce/Business or CPHR (or working towards)
  • End to end recruitment experience - handling a broad spectrum of roles
  • Preparing contracts of employment
  • Performance management and counselling; managing conflict/grievances and investigations
  • Policy development and maintenance
  • Providing advice to staff/management on employee relations
  • Working knowledge of current workplace legislation
  • Job analysis and remuneration benchmarking (desirable)
  • HRIS knowledge or implementation experience (advantageous)

Essential to your success in the role will be your pragmatic approach, your ability to build rapport and credibility at all levels of the organisation as well as your ability to manage confidentiality and ethics. You will have a proactive and collaborative approach to team work with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, strong verbal and written skills and influencing/negotiation skills. You will have a strong customer service focus with a positive and upbeat approach. You will have proven stakeholder management skills and a passion for working in a busy environment with the ability to respond to multiple priorities.
