About Them
The Department of Planning & Environment, which is based in the CBD, is the lead NSW Government agency in planning for a growing NSW. It is the lead adviser for a number of diverse businesses such as the Office of Environment & Heritage, the Office of Local Government, Resources & Energy, the Arts and several other associated entities such as the Environment Protection Authority, statutory trusts, planning bodies and development corporations.    

About the Role
Reporting to Executive Director-Executive Development & Services, Culture & Diversity, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of end-to-end executive level recruitment services providing a proactive, client focussed, capability-based service across the cluster. Your role will be to ensure the provision of contemporary recruitment solutions, advice and strategies that meet government and legislative requirements whilst enabling hiring managers to recruit competitively and effectively. Some of your key accountabilities will include:
  • Providing specialist expert advice to enable hiring managers to source the best talent for roles and to ensure the candidate experience is of a high standard.
  • Partnering with executive hiring managers to understand pipeline recruitment needs and recommending targeted recruitment initiatives and strategies.
  • Engaging and managing relationships with recruitment agencies and search firms acting as a conduit and advisor.
  • Managing, advising and enforcing governance and compliance strategies on recruitment activities.
  • Designing and developing appropriate sourcing and assessment strategies for recruitment needs to effectively attract and assess executive talent that meet business needs.
  • Providing debriefs to panel members on assessment results of shortlisted candidates.
About You
As the successful candidate, you are an experienced recruiter with a solid background in recruitment delivery and managing executive level recruitment programs. You will display the level of gravitas required to build credibility with a diverse range of executive level stakeholders and external parties as well as provide value added advice and guidance around sourcing, acquiring and on-boarding senior talent. Your strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and your collaborative approach and passion for the function are essential.
