The opportunity to lead the HR function with the freedom to develop and set the strategy to make it your own.  Meaty change projects working toward operational efficiencies, strong thought leadership, with a high performing and engaged workforce.

About Them:
An established and successful single asset mining operation with approximately 500 employees that has recently undergone a change in ownership.  Looking for an experienced senior HR professional with a broad skill set to support the newly defined business and be part of the leadership team.

About the Role:
As the head of HR for this business, you will manage the HR function and have a strong focus on developing a high performing leadership team that can create a positive business of the future. This role is an exciting combination of strategic planning, that will set the business up for future success, and leading a team providing operational day-to-day support in the areas of Employee Relations & IR, and training & performance. You will be key in current negotiations and, as part of the engine room of the organisation, you will be a key contributor to the strategy around the joint venture management and operationalise the people plan to support it. Previous experience in mining is essential.

What success looks like:
You are an experienced HR professional, engaging leader with excellent HR generalist skills. You are action oriented and understand the importance of good leadership enabling direct engagement from your employees.  You are seasoned in the areas of IR, change management, leadership coaching and operational efficiencies, as well as being someone people trust. To be successful:
  • Tertiary qualified HR/Business or related
  • Experience working with mining and resources and EBA environments essential
  • Excellent HR generalist management experience 
  • Understanding of Systems Leadership methodology preferred
