About the Organisation & Role:

  • Provide high-level and specialist advice on strategic and operational workplace relations matters involving the interpretation of enterprise agreement provisions, policies and procedures and workplace legislation, including the provision of advice and complex case management, support and issues resolution to a range of managers and staff.
  • Develop, maintain and grow excellent relationships with managers and staff at all levels, and with HR colleagues to provide professional leadership, guidance and support.
  • Ensure the delivering of accurate and strategic advice to clients and managing their cases in a comprehensive manner.
  • Provide advice and assistance to the client group on a broad range of staff and management related HR activity, including performance management, unacceptable behaviour or conduct, local workplace conflict, grievances, bullying, disputes, probation, organisational change, employment termination, review committees and workplace policies and procedures, in conjunction with other HR consultants, Health, Well-being and Safety team and HR Business Partners as appropriate.
  • Lead, participate in and contribute to a range of HR projects applying specialist workplace relations knowledge and consultancy skills to identify enhancements to existing processes, address trends and introduce best practice strategies, policies and practices, which will lead to improved organisational performance.   
Experience Required:  
  • To be considered, this role requires a tertiary qualified Workplace Relations specialist with extensive employee and industrial relations experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent investigative and analytical skills, accompanied with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of industrial relations legislation, practices and strategies, and advocating before industrial tribunals.
  • Ability to build credible business relationships, consult and provide specialist advice on a broad range of complex workplace and employee relations.
  • Substantial experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures within a complex organisation.
  • Previous experience of managing and developing a team.
