Training & Development Officer job in Local Government | Northwest QLD | Flights & Accommodation | 8-12 weeks

Your new company
Your new employer is a Local Government Council in Northwest Queensland just outside of Mount Isa. The Council has recently undertaken an organisational restructure with the aim of aligning service delivery with the positions necessary to promote growth in the local community.

Your new role
Reporting to the People, Culture and Capability Manager, the Training & Development Officer position is a newly created role that is vital to the implementation of recommendations derived from a recent Training Needs Analysis conducted across the Council. Your deliverables will include:

  • Assist in the development of a new Employee Induction & Onboarding Program
  • Liaising with Managers & Employees to identify and assess training and development needs
  • Undertake New Starter inductions
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to trainees and apprentices to satisfy RTO requirements


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this critical position, you will demonstrate a true passion for learning and development and possess a current Cert IV in Training and Assessment. You have recently investigated and implemented best practice methods of training delivery and have managed a training and development budget to effectively achieve the highest desired training outcomes. Proven experience in a similar role, an energetic and positive attitude and strong communication skills across all levels will set you apart from other candidates.
