A new opportunity for a qualified WHS Officer to join a local organisation in Katherine, NT

Your new company
Our client, a prominent not for profit organisation based in Katherine is actively sourcing an experienced WHS Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This position is available at a 0.8 FTE across 4 days per week

Your new role
Your new position will see you responsible for providing operational support for the continuous improvement of the organisations work health and safety management systems and ensuring compliance across all aspects of the business. You will be responsible for implementing, managing and monitoring of the WHS Plans and ensuring an effective and safe work culture and environment that will be maintained under your supervision. This role will also see you responsible for the maintenance of the Incident Report register, chair the WHS Committee and undertake audits and reviews when required

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced WHS Officer with an ability to clearly communicate and explain WHS processes and procedures in different forums. You will be able to present to all audiences in a clear and concise manner and able to hold engagement. Your ability to be able to prioritise competing deadlines in an ever-changing, fast paced and demanding environment will see you best placed for this role. The ideal candidate will come from a not for profit or blue collar background and will also hold the below:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health Safety or a higher discipline
  • Unrestricted NT Drivers Licence
  • Current Police check (or able to obtain a record)
