One of the factors critical to their ongoing success is the implementation of a well-defined People Strategy which includes a drive for workplace relations reform. An opportunity exists for an experienced Human Resources Generalist  (with Workplace Relations expertise) to join the team as they strive to deliver on this strategy.

Reporting to the Director Workplace Relations, this newly created role sits within the Group Workplace Relations team, responsible for increasing the capability of management and the broader HR community in all areas of employee and workplace relations.  Your remit will include providing advice to HR teams regards complex case management cases and the interpretation of employment legislation/enterprise agreement, representing the organisation at various tribunals as required. Additionally, you will prepare technical advice and reports to inform and influence decision makers regards Workplace Relations matters. 

Selection criteria;
  • Generalist HR experience is essential, complimented by your expertise in and knowledge of Workplace Relations.
  • Proven ability to provide professional advice and professional guidance re complex employee relations issues/cases to senior stakeholders.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, interpersonal and written communication skills, with experience in effectively influencing and upskilling key stakeholders and HR teams.
  • The ability to research and interpret matters considering multiple sources such as legislation, enterprise agreements, policy, procedures and HR/ER practices.
  • Problem-solving skills, proactive in your identification of innovative solutions for emerging themes and risks.
  • Skill in distilling complex industrial relations issues into practical HR solutions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations - post graduate qualifications preferred.
  • Experience ideally gained within in a large, unionised organisation.
