Drive the implementation of an integrity and ethics culture within a large state government organisation.

Your new company
A large state government department located in Brisbane's CBD. HR plays a critical role in the organisation in developing an engaged, empowered and flexible workforce with the agility to readily respond to changing imperatives. Human Resource Services provides business support to the organisation to enable service delivery outcomes through the following strategic and operational functions.

Your new role
This newly created role will assist in the development and implementation of proactive education, communication and other key initiatives to support and embed positive conduct, identification and reporting of integrity and ethics matters. The role will also support a best practice approach to investigations within the organisation.

  • Provide support and advice to the Manager Ethics and Integrity and other relevant stakeholders relating to ethics and integrity matters, including assessment, investigation, resolution and engagement with integrity bodies, ensuring compliance with legislative obligations.
  • Assist the Manager Ethics and Integrity with the coordination of Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) liaison requirements as well as Public Interest Disclosure (PID) coordination, including liaison with the Office of the Queensland Ombudsman.
  • Support the development and implementation of proactive strategies to educate and raise awareness for all staff on integrity and ethics issues to facilitate constructive behaviors and strengthen a culture of integrity.
  • Assist in the management of conduct, ethics and integrity matters and provide support in undertaking complex investigations as required.
  • Maintain a register of ethics and integrity matters and create reports for relevant stakeholders.
  • Collate integrity and ethics data to identify trends and support the development of initiatives to respond to key themes that may arise.

What you'll need to succeed
ideal applicant will have a background working in the areas of compliance, integrity, conduct and ethical standards and be someone who can demonstrate the ability to:

  • Undertake effective and professional investigations into complex matters to deliver well-reasoned conclusions delivered in a clear language format.
  • Ensure outcomes are achieved within agreed parameters including timeframes, resources and budgets.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, managers and other key stakeholders and proactively offer assistance and advice for a mutually beneficial relationship.
  • Candidates with experience working in or with the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) liaison as well as Public Interest Disclosure (PID) coordination will be highly regarded.
