A high profile agency seeking an Industrial Relations Advisor to join their Policy and Operations team.

Your new role
To succeed in this role, you must be able to undertake work that is complex in nature, providing accurate and specialised advice.

The key responsibilities of your role with include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations
  • Contribute to managing change and uncertainty in the workplace
  • Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives and contribute to business improvement strategies and to change in workplace practices
  • Provide advice to employees for more complex or sensitive enquiries
  • Prepare sensitive and complex correspondence to external stakeholders
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation where require
  • Provide training/deliver information sessions on legislative changes, policy or guideline updates as required.

What you'll need to succeed
Your expertise is knowledge around developing policy consistent with the APS employment framework and department employment arrangements.

You will have energy, drive and an appetite for influencing positive changes within a workplace. You must have strong written skills and experienced and effective negotiation and influence, providing clear, persuasive and accurate advice.

You will have proven ability to work as part of a team, foster collaboration with all stakeholder and establish and maintain strong working relationships. An understanding of the Public Sector Workplace Relations Policy 2020 is highly desirable as is experience with developing and implementing industrial instruments.
