Join the Workforce Establishments, Reporting & Insights section as a Workforce Establishments Data Analyst (APS6). This team is responsible for ensuring the department is well-placed to make good decisions using reliable, robust data supported by meaningful workforce metrics, analytics, and insights.
Your duties include:
- Analyse workforce data to identify trends and inform workforce planning.
- Use statistical techniques to interpret data and generate recommendations.
- Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms for stakeholders.
- Resolve HRMIS issues, from minor errors to complex departmental restructures.
- Collaborate with HR teams to ensure data accuracy in systems like Aurion.
- Contribute to workforce analytics projects and manage data requests.
What you'll need to succeed
A Baseline security clearance is required for this position. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level, and you must be an Australian citizen.
- Experience in analysing workforce data, including proficiency in data manipulation and basic statistical analysis techniques.
- Ability to communicate data insights effectively to a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
- Understanding of the Human Resources (HR) context and processes.
- Familiarity with HR systems, including basic technical skills in data extraction and analysis.
- Experience using PowerBI and/or other workforce data systems (such as Aurion and/or TechOne), although not essential, would be highly desirable.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using systems to extract, analyse and visualise data, to influence and support decision-making.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage priorities and competing requests while working to deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate, liaise, negotiate with and respond to a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
