This high-profile Federal Government agency has responsibilities for the delivery of advice and high-quality services, shaping how government services are delivered to the Australian community.

Your new role
The role is situated within the Workforce Strategy team who work closely with stakeholders to understand the potential impacts on staff roles in the future, and to plan for these changes. The team also has responsibility for supporting the agency to develop the organisational structures and roles that will be required now and into the future.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyse workforce data and contribute to the identification of targeted strategies to address workforce issues,
  • Conduct environmental scans and labour market research
  • Contribute to the development of workforce planning tools, templates and guides
  • Undertake job analysis and design functions to support workforce planning activities and review organisational structures to improve business outcomes
  • Engage with stakeholders to:
    • Share knowledge, information and build workforce planning and organisational design awareness
    • Support local workforce planning and organisational design activities through training and the provision of tactical advice
  • Draft submissions and papers for senior staff and Executive
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders relevant to workforce planning.

What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate in this role you will possess the following:

  • Knowledge and understanding off the workforce planning process including workforce analysis, organisational design and job design
  • Understanding of relevant frameworks, legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements
  • Ability to prepare and analyse complex workforce data in order to derive effective strategies for the agency
  • Display sound critical and problem-solving skills and can form recommendations based on evidence and sound judgement
  • Ability to communicate and convey, both verbally and written, messages in a way clear, concise and understood by a large audience
  • Flexibly adjust to changing work demands and circumstances and is receptive to new concepts.
