The People Strategies Office is seeking a full-time Assistant Director, Performance and Culture. This role is integral to providing efficient and effective human resources advice and services to the team. Priding themselves on their strong service focus, providing responsive and efficient services to staff, and proactive and strategic advice to managers to help achieve organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and support to the Performance and Culture Team, encouraging continuous improvement and development of staff.
  • Deliver a range of human resources functions including workplace relations, organisational culture, workforce planning, and learning and development.
  • Perform relevant project and research work to develop and draft policies and procedures relating to people matters.
  • Support change management involved in HR policies, processes, and procedures by identifying best practice and adopting industry standards and reforms.
  • Represent the Office at commonwealth networks, working groups, and forums.
Selection Criteria:
  • High-level leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the delivery of human resources functions in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, including high-level liaison and negotiation.
  • A strong practical understanding of current workforce challenges and initiatives in people management matters.
  • The ability to prioritise, deliver outcomes, and respond flexibly as priorities and issues emerge.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
