Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist who has extensive experience within the blue collar space. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within this sector and will play a key role in supporting the workforce. This position requires a versatile HR professional who can handle a wide range of HR functions, provide expert guidance, and contribute to the overall success of the local and national operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Consult with senior management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices specific to the logistics and transportation sector.
  • Collaborate with operations and safety teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Handle employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and mediate disputes to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and feedback to enhance employee performance and development.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and the Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide sites.
  • Manage recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and on-boarding new employees to ensure a talented and diverse workforce.
  • Collaborate senior leadership, analyse trends, and provide insights to improve HR processes and initiatives.
Requirements of the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field or HR certification is a plus.
  • Experience as a HR Generalist in the Industrial or Blue Collar.
  • Experience in ER, Fair Work Case management, and IR.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Effective engagement strategies and the ability to build influential relationships.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software tools.
The successful candidate will have considerable experience within a similar role/environment, outstanding relationship building, coaching and influencing skills. If you have a solutions-focused approach and deal with issues and change in a proactive positive way, this role will appeal to you. Your ability to leverage support with senior managers from a technical background will be crucial as you ensure that communication is upheld with your site group and deliver to a high standard.
