Our Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated HR and Recruitment Coordinator to join our Human Resources team.  Our team is a high performing and collaborative group of HR professionals that deliver exceptional service to our people, through the delivery of contemporary and best practice people services.

Supporting HopgoodGanim Lawyers and associated businesses of the HopgoodGanim Group, you will report to the Human Resources Manager, supporting generalist HR coordination for the team and key stakeholders, together with taking responsibility for end-to-end recruitment nationally.   

A newly created role, you will assist in sourcing widely for legal practitioners, support specialists and legal operations team members, working within the HR team to attract the best talent for HG, providing onboarding, ongoing support and assistance following the campaign end.

With nearly 300 people across our offices in Brisbane and Perth, this role is an excellent opportunity to further develop your HR career while receiving coaching and guidance from more senior members of the HR team. 

Your Key Responsibilities

Our HR team provide a wide range of specialist services to the firm in often a fast paced and agile environment.  This role is varied and together with supporting cyclical and daily HR activities/initiatives, you will have responsibility for:

  • managing the end-to-end recruitment function, including taking job briefs, writing and posting job advertisements, liaising with agencies, reviewing applications, phone screening, presenting shortlists to hiring/HR managers and reference checking;
  • assisting lead our national Vacation Clerkship Program each year, being the key point of contact for all Clerks before, during and after each program, and assisting in recruitment and placement of Graduates;
  • retain, maintain and create new relationships with industry leading agencies, including the establishment of preferred supplier agreements and working within the HR team to manage HopgoodGanim’s recruitment expenditure, tracking and consolidating advertising costs to achieve best value spend;
  • being a key stakeholder in the development and implementation of the HR and talent attraction strategy, aligning with other key strategic objectives of the firm; and
  • providing generalist HR support including coordinating the firm’s induction and onboarding programs in conjunction with the Learning and Development team.

Our Successful Candidate

We are looking for someone who is driven, curious and has a willingness to innovate HR and recruitment at HG. Ideally you will have at least three years’ experience in a recruitment role, with agency, legal or professional services experience an advantage, but also a strong interest and experience in developing your generalist HR expertise.

You will be a team player and have the ability to collaborate with all levels of seniority. The role will require you to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple stakeholders and often competing priorities. It is essential that you are able to develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
