Qualified and experienced HR Business Partner required for Global Mining Company based in Perth CBD.

This is an opportunity for an established HR Business Partner to join a global mining organisation who is experiencing further growth in Australia and is now seeking to establish an HR function.

This is a newly created role which will be standalone in the first instance and will require a 'hands on' approach where you can adapt between supporting strategic direction as well as the provision of day to day HR advice and operational functionality.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and developing policies, processes, procedures and systems for best practice human resources
  • Alignment of Global head office HR strategies within the Australian business
  • Supporting workforce planning and management of the recruitment process
  • Management of the onboarding process, raising of contracts, terms and conditions
  • Overseeing the payroll process by liaising with the third party provider
  • Provision of contemporary advice, and the coaching and development of line management
  • Coordination of performance review, performance management
  • Management of employee relations including grievances and disciplinaries
  • Remuneration benchmarking and provision of recommendations
  • Engagement and retention strategies
  • Talent management, including performance development and succession planning
  • Development of HR metrics, analysis and HR reporting

This is a generalist opportunity where you will possess the ability to create the HR function with the support of a Global Head Office. The organisation has already established itself within the Australian mining sector and future plans for growth make for a very exciting proposition.

To be successful in your application, you will be an experienced HR Business Partner who is confident in your presentation at an Executive level and all other positions within the business. You will be contemporary in your thinking and pride yourself on your ability to establish best practice within human resources, and the provision of a safe working environment. It is essential that you have a comprehensive working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards and keep yourself abreast of legislative changes to ensure sound advice. You will be a generalist practitioner who possesses either an human resources or related tertiary qualification. A recent prior background from within the mining sector will be a preference.
