Our client has a long history of servicing the construction industry across Australia and NZ and due to growth is now looking for a People and Culture Business Partner to look after the southern region of their operations.

This role will see you in a hands-on operational capacity, with a strong advisory component to the Regional Leadership Team/s. You will also be working on several projects, in line with the overall business, People and Culture Strategy. The role touches on elements of the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment, appraisal, talent, succession, remuneration and other processes such as ER/IR matters, workplace investigations, conflict management, return to work, policy & procedure implementation, and termination processes.

P&C is well embedded in the business and highly valued but with the high level of growth it is ready for its next evolution. This role requires maturity, diplomacy and influencing skills and the ability to be innovative and resilient. A key part of the role will be coaching and supporting the operational leaders in relation to people matters.

This role is standalone but has the full support of a HR team-based interstate and will work very closely with their own client group of over 200 FTE across three states.

Some of the key deliverables are:

  • Implement and drive performance management, including coaching, counselling, and grievance procedures
  • Training and development
  • Drive and support Diversity and Inclusion Strategies
  • Implement processes for recruitment and selection, training and development and succession planning.
  • Actively partner with Recruitment team to reduce time to fill and improve quality of hire and onboarding new employees.
  • Provide coaching and support on a range of employee and industrial relations matters.
  • Provide support with P&C projects and strategies, policy development and implementation.
  • Devise plans and techniques with the Senior Management to inspire change and culture management.
  • Assist with analytics and reporting as required.
  • Maintain currency of EBA rates, timetable and lead the renegotiation of agreement(s).
  • Drive and support Employee Rewards and Recognition Programs.
  • Manage Worker's Compensation, return to work and wellbeing programs
  • Deliver in-house training on key topics such as Performance Management, EEO/ Respectful Workplaces and other topics as identified to improve organisational performance
  • Work collaboratively with the OHS team to maintain a Healthy and safe working environment.

The suitable applicant will have worked in a P&C function for a minimum of 8 years in a mid-sized FMCG or construction organisation and must enjoy engaging with a wide range of stakeholders within multiple site based blue collar environments.

This role is busy and will suit somebody who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is used to multitasking. Attributes that would stand you in good stead are sound organisation skills, great communication, exceptional stakeholder management experience, pragmatism. forward thinking and proven problem solving and analytical skills.
