About the Role
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all aspects of the human resources function at The Australian Ballet and supporting Orchestra Victoria.
Reporting to the CFO/Director of Business Operations, this hands-on generalist role encompasses; performance and reward, industrial and employee relations, recruitment and selection, talent development, and training and learning.

  • Employee and Industrial Relations
  • Occupational Health and Safety
To be successful in this role the Human Resources Manager should demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and personal qualities: -
  • Outstanding communication skills – verbal and written
  • Hands-on experience in complex, multi-functional work environments
  • The ability to deliver creative solutions with limited resources
  • Drive and resilience
  • Understanding of artistic and specialist career drivers and challenges
  • Interest in the Performing Arts industry
About You
To be successful, extensive experience in the following is required;
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or related discipline
  • Experience in other generalist Human Resource roles
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other legislation affecting employees
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise agreement negotiations and industrial relations
  • Strong policy knowledge and up to date legislative expertise
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • A true business partner approach
