Standalone HR role within Medium sized Not-For-Profit in Townsville.

Your new role
As part of the Corporate Services team, your role will be essential in working across the organisation as a trusted advisor and support.

This role is responsible for providing Human Resources support to managers in the implementation of Policies and Procedures. It is an advisory role as well as operational that focuses on both management and front line team members.
HR functions supported by this role include;

  • HR Policy and Strategy Overview;
  • Remuneration and Benefits support including Payroll support;
  • Employee Relations and Organizational Development;
  • Line Support with Performance Management and Discipline;
  • Recruitment, Induction and On-boarding, Terminations;
  • Management Coaching and Advice;
  • Supporting and promoting effective change management.

What you'll need to succeed

This role will need someone patient, persistent and influential who can work collaboratively with stakeholders and the existing diverse workforce. You will have a knack for meeting deadlines and be a strategic communicator who can get buy in to new processes from your client group. Change and process improvement will be a professional interest for you and you will have a strong systems and administrative skillset. This will be a complex role requiring you to take ownership in the delivery or HR services.

You will need to have a Bachelor Degree with a HR focus or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of current HR practices and methodologies. Your confidence and knowledge of Australian Industrial Legislation such as the Employment Act, Modern Awards and Work Health and Safety standards will also be essential to your success. You will also be known for your integrity and standards in maintaining compliances and doing the right thing. This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with policy.

What you'll get in return

You will be based in the well-appointed Townsville CBD office. Your remuneration package will be based on your experience starting from $116,000 and your working week is 38 hour week. There is infrequent travel involved for which a car will be provided.

Your role will be highly visible and you will be essential in supporting the Northern Queensland based team.
