A high performing and well established SME business with over 150 employees across Australia with a varied workforce of white collar, creative and technical across Sydney and Melbourne.

Your new role
Reporting to the CEO you, you will be managing the HR function, driving change and upskilling employees and culture after a tough past two years. Highly engaged and committed workforce who just needs a bit of love and attention to reconnect and rebuild the magic. Varied and hands on, you will be responsible for all HR activities both operational and strategies. These will including.

Key areas will include:

  • Assist with the development of people programs, HR policies, job design and capability frameworks
  • Assist in the integration of new employees and processes due to acquisitions and be involved in managing the people side of the acquisition process.
  • You will be reviewing what the business already has set up and making any amendments to policy or organisation structure for the future and will be rounding out the company wide People and Talent Strategy and advising the Senior Leadership Team
  • Change management including restructure advice and support, setting up an induction, training and development plans for staff within the acquisition and in the wider business as a whole
  • Recruitment and talent management, onboarding
  • HR administration, HR reporting,
  • WHS and RTW
  • Employee relations, award interpretation and performance management coaching, case management
  • Reward & recognition and Culture & Engagement programs and activities
  • Training all staff
  • Managing a small support team

What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience within HR as an HR Manager, People & Culture Manager who has worked in a similar start up, Greenfield role or a smaller, SME style business
  • You will be hands on, operational and strategic and enjoy working in smaller business cultures
  • You will be happy to work in an autonomous HR Manager role and there may be some travel to VIC when required
  • You must be hands on and be happy to the basics as well as the strategic work, someone who enjoys working with all levels of a business and can adapt depending on the employee or stakeholder

This is a full time role and will be office based with one or two day a week working from home.

Location is North Shore area near North Sydney with parking.
