HR Generalist - FTC 10 - 12 months - parental leave. Sydney Hospitality Business. PT moving to FT in 2021.

Your new company
Well established and highly successful Hospitality business in Sydney is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to take on a hands on operationally focused fixed term contract to cover a parental leave from December 2020.

Your new role
This is a stand alone HR Manager position supporting a local GM and a mix of permanent and casual workforce of 150 - 450 staff. All employees are either office management in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Events, IT etc or they are a mix of casual hospitality and events employees on a casual basis.

You will be responsible for all HR activities for the business and will include:

  • Recruitment - head office and casual hiring
  • Onboarding and inductions
  • Performance management advice, coaching through performance reviews and discussions
  • ER and IR advice provision including work place investigations, grievances
  • EBA and award interpretation
  • Performance appraisals
  • HR policy and process development
  • Training coordination, facilitation and any leadership coaching
  • Engagement and cultural activities including staff events and internal communication
  • WHS and supporting staff who are on Jobkeepers and ensuring the workforce is safe
  • Compliance, visa checking and HR process improvement
  • HR administration including contracts, reporting and any HR database updates

The business is now busier after the impact of COVID on the sector and they are a committed, loyal and dedicated workforce who are passionate about their brand, company and what they do and offer the public. This role offers 3 to 4 days per week to begin with and could develop into more full time work in 2021 as the market picks up and life gets back to a more balanced and normal world.

What you'll need to succeed
You will an experienced HR Generalist, HR Manager, be hands on, and enjoy getting fully involved in the business. Someone who likes a fast paced every changing culture and thrives in this kind of industry where no two days are the same. It's a fun and diverse culture and needs someone who is happy to draft a contract as well as advise the leadership team on strategic workforce planning, engagement, ER and provide leadership guidance. Knowledge and experience of working on Hotels, Hospitality, Entertainment, Travel or Tourism will be very beneficial.

What you'll get in return
You will received a salary of up to 100K base + super FTE and the hours are minimum 3 day per week and possibly 4 days. There is flexibility on these hours and when worked, along with the option to WFH and in the office when needed. There is free parking and other staff benefits.

  • Start date is early to mid December for a full handover and the employer is flexible on this to work around Christmas and any plans and commitments.
