HR Manager needed to join a high-growth creative SME business in Sydney

Your new company

Working for an Australian success story in the creative film world with growth plans for 2024 and beyond. This is a permanent newly created opportunity working in Western Sydney.

Your new role

Report to the GM of the business, you will be responsible for HR function, developing and implementing new people programs and strategies, as well as coaching leaders and advising the wider business. This is a newly created HR Generalist to support growth and is an opportunity to really make the role your own. The workforce is small and diverse. They are all creative, artistic, techy and passionate about what they do.

Key areas will include:
  • You will manage all HR advice provision to managers and staff
  • Employee relations and consulting on performance management and employment law
  • Hands on training and coaching across the business
  • Talent management, design and delivery of talent attraction strategies
  • HRIS management and development
  • You will manage the company's benefits program, wellbeing strategies
  • You will support the leadership team on a daily basis on all people matters
  • Performance reviews and appraisals
  • You will drive engagement and promote the culture and values of the business
  • Mentoring and development one member of staff

What you'll need to succeed

  • An ideal position for someone with 5 years + HR generalist experience who enjoys working in a small, SME style, close-knit and creative culture.
  • You will work with a very passionate, driven, high-performing team and leaders, and the culture reflects this.
  • This role would also suit someone who is passionate about working in the creative animation world.
  • This is an extra personal interest that this role would align to, though it is not essential.
  • You will be experienced in all HR and ER advice, fairwork, remuneration & benefits, training and coaching,
  • Experience of using or implementing an HRIS and mentoring a team is desirable but not essential
  • You will be a team player, enjoy working with like-minded people
Must have local Australian HR experience and have full permanent working rights (sorry no WHV).
