ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and seasoned HR Generalist to join our fast paced team. Reporting to the HR Manager, this varied role plays an integral part in the success of the business. 

In this position, you will be exposed to all facets of HR and OH&S. This is a TRUE GENERALIST HR OFFICER position WITH STRONG SAFETY FOCUS. In this role you will provide prompt and best practice HR & OHS service to our teams across Australia and New Zealand. You will have autonomy and ownership to manage and improve the day-to-day HR & Safety coordination and administration functions. You will have the ability to think outside the box and implement new ideas.

HR responsibilities 

  • Provide proactive and reactive HR support by being first point of call for all enquiries.
  • Create and maintain all HR documentation and files, ensuring they are up to date at all times. 
  • Be responsible for accurately drafting employment contracts and documentation. This includes drafting ‘impactful’ site-wide communications.
  • Coordinate all onboarding  activities for new starters – from booking pre employment medicals to facilitating induction, training and ensuring probationary reviews are completed on time. 
  • Actively participate in recruitment and separation processes, including conducting phone screening and exit interviews. 

OHS and Wellness responsibilities 

  • Drive ZERO HARM culture on site. 
  • Be an active member of the OH&S committee and participate OH&S activities including Risk Assessments. 
  • Assist with WorkCover related documentation and activities. 
  • Facilitate health and wellbeing initiatives across the business. 
  • Initiate and organise all Employee Engagement activities. 
  • Participate and contribute positively to various HR projects.

To be successful, you will have – 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a HR Generalist role with a safety focus.
  • Cert IV in OHS. 
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Experience in efficiently using various technology platforms.
  • Strong initiative and drive.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with tight timeframes and deadlines
