L&D Officer job in Inner North Melbourne. Immediate start. Provide transactional support to the L&D team.

Your new company
A fantastic Public Sector HR Team are seeking an experienced L&D officer to support the L&D Advisor. Based in the inner city suburbs of Melbourne, this organisation has a wide raging people and culture offer in which L&D is a key component.

Your new role
You will conduct a variety of administrative duties, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting in the identification of employee L&D needs
  • Assisting in the development of a yearly training calendar
  • Source, book and organise external providers and resources as required
  • Coordinate the delivery and evaluation of workshops - book rooms, catering, manage registrations, etc.
  • Administer the organisation's Learning Management System (LMS), Kineo, to ensure all compliance training is assigned and corporate training records are accurately captured
  • Facilitate in house training
  • Coordinate the delivery of the corporate induction program
  • Assist with periodic L&D reporting

What you'll need to succeed
You will have worked in an office environment and have a strong administrative background. Experience working in a public sector H.R. team is desirable but not essential, while previous experience as an L&D or Training Officer or Coordinator is preferable. Your skills should include:

  • Well-developed administrative and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and plan work in a high volume environment
  • Strong computer skills (ideally in LMS and HRIS) to manage data bases, maintain and develop online forms, conduct online surveys, and administer the performance appraisal system
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to be proactive and self-starting
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, especially:
    • customer focus
    • working in teams
    • ability to proactively build relationships (internally and external to the organisation)
