An exciting opportunity to join a growing and engaged organisation. Our client, Tiwi Islands Regional Council are currently sourcing an experienced Manager for Organisational Development and Change to join their team on a permanent basis

Your new role
Based on Bathurst Island, this role involves all aspects of Human Resource, Change and Organisational Management. A diverse role, you will be required to provide a high level of HR advise including the following key areas

  • Provide high level human resource advise and guidance to the Executive, Senior Management and staff on employee and case management issues
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships and linkages with managers, agencies, HR service providers and other stakeholders to assist in achieving the council's strategic objectives.
  • Lead and manage the Human resource Unit to ensure all needs are met
  • Manage training and employment programs
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of HR activities, policies and plans to enhance the council's strategic, business and cultural plans.
  • Mediate the resolution if industrial relations issues Maintain a safe working environment and ensure Occupational Health and Safety regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure the policies and procedures of the council are adhered to and all resourced effectively deployed
  • Coordinate end to end recruitment for the council
  • Work with the executive team and CEO to continue to develop an engaged and positive workplace


This position is in based in Bathurst Island, a remote community of the Northern Territory. Furnished accommodation is provided as part of the package at a minimal subsidised rental

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role you must be able to demonstrate previous experience working as a HR Manager or HR Generalist. You will have strong experience working with case management and OH&S and sound understanding of HR principals including IR law. In addition, you will support the council by developing and maintaining an engaged workforce by leading and training staff and supporting motivation with reward and recognition programs. You will be a positive leader and mentor, have strong communication skills and be systems savvy
