My client is a global market leader in a specific area of medical instruments.  They have a small (in terms of headcount) but significant presence in Australia.

They have recently signed off on this newly created role for an initial 12 month period to support the development of the Australian business. The role is standalone in Australia but is very much part of the global team, particularly the Asia Pac region where it reports to (Singapore based).  It is therefore in many ways individual contributor and independent role with the backdrop of strong functional support.  The position covers all aspects of HR, and predominantly looks after a sales and service group as well as other corporate roles.

Specific Responsibilities Include - 

- Talent Management - specifically forming structured development plans for key employees
- Employee Relations - low volume and the emphasis is very much focused on early intervention to avoid formal cases
- Performance Management - with a sales focused group PIPs are occasionally deployed, with the ideal outcome being the retention of the employee
- Talent Acquisition - open vacancies are very low but when they arise the organisation seeks a proactive and direct approach
- Employee Engagement - formal surveys are already in place as are action plans and communications.  Initially the role will require someone to follow up and drive the actions with managers
HRIS - Ad hoc input and reporting

As a sophisticated global business, programs are available and in place but this role is very much about bringing them to life / making it happen!  Payroll is not part of the role as it is outsourced but some checks and interpretation may be required.

The position is a 3 day per week position.  Ideal days are Monday, Wednesday Friday although other routines may be considered but not three consecutive days.   The role is offered a an initial 12 month FTC with a possibility of extension.  A pro rata salary of between $130K-$150K includes Super and a completion payment at the end of 12 months.
