12 month temp role in the Federal Government. Recruit for an organisation working with AU service personnel

Your new company
Our client, Open Arms, is apart of the Federal Governments Department of Veteran Affairs. They provide specialist mental health and wellbeing support for current and ex-serving Australian defence personnel and their families. This includes access to specialised counselling and mental health assessments.

Your new role
Open Arms are seeking a Recruitment officer to support regions with the centralised recruitment function and on-boarding of new labour hire staff. As an important member of the Open Arms internal recruitment team, you will support an environment that encourages a willingness to adopt participative workplace practices in line with policies of WHS, Workplace Diversity and the Australian Public Services Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct. While undertaking the labour hire recruitment role and as the main point of contact between Open Arms and all recruitment suppliers, your duties will include;

  • Supporting regions with the recruitment and onboarding of new staff;
  • Arranging interviews for candidates with recruitment agencies;
  • Negotiating and drafting short-term labour hire contracts, and arranging contract extensions as directed;
  • Prepare contracts and reports (as required) for effective human resources delivery;
  • Status reporting to Open Arms executive; Onboarding of new labour hire staff;
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with stakeholders in order to achieve business objectives;
  • Contribute to the Personnel & Property team more broadly as required;
  • Achieve deliverables within prescribed timeframes

What you'll need to succeed
You will be experienced in labour hire recruitment from working in either a recruitment agency (temporary recruitment) or public sector setting (contingent recruitment). You will display:

  • High level of interpersonal skills and attention to detail;
  • Exposure to/an understanding of invoices and credit notes;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and ever-changing work environment.
