Your new company
Hays Human Resources are seeking an experienced Senior Business Partner - Workplace Relations for the Government based centrally on the Gold Coast. This is a 2 year contract opportunity responsible for Employee / Industrial Relations onsite. This position is to commence immediately on a full time basis with the flexibility to occasionally work from home.

Your new role
You will work closely with business leaders to identify and achieve shared organisational objectives. You will assist with the implementation of proactive workforce strategies and interventions within services across the department in order to drive continuous improvement, performance and accountability and a culture that assures the achievement of the organisational workforce goals and objectives. This role is for a strong generalist who has solid Employee / Industrial Relations expertise. You will understand the needs of the organisation and assist in the planning, development and implementation of the strategic and operational business plans along with driving the implementation of innovative practices, techniques and processes designed to improve the service delivery. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performance Management & Industrial relations
  • Coach and support managers/supervisors on employee matters
  • Case management & Return to Work Coordinator
  • Workforce planning
  • Lead, develop and implement programs

What you'll need to succeed
As the Senior Business Partner - Workplace Relations, you will have an exceptional eye for detail, learn information quickly and demonstrate efficient and effective time management with expertise in Employee / Industrial Relations. Your confidence will be a reflection of your high level of communication - verbal, written and listening. As a HR Professional you will be a responsive and solutions focused professional, able to provide expert advice and communicate with management within the organisation. You will have significant experience navigating through large complex cases, ability to confidently interpret and understand relevant industrial and legislation process and demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills. Previous experience in a legal firm dealing with Employee / Industrial Relation matters is highly desirable.
Mandatory Bachelor Degree of Human Resource Management or Equivalent knowledge. Bachelor Degree of Law or Equivalent would be highly desirable
