We are currently looking to appoint Senior Learning and Development Officer. This assignment will be a full time temporary opportunity, running through to June 2020.

Working in the Capability Design and Development team, you will consult widely across the Agency supporting behavioural and performance change and the design and development of learning and development programs and on the job solutions.

This position will play a lead role in the strategic consultation and analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of a range of learning solutions and programs that will help prepare staff for their work with Scheme participants and internally.

The Senior Learning and Development Officer will be responsible for a range of learning and development functions including:

  • Strategically consulting with a wide range of stakeholders and supporting the development of training content, on the job components and elements that support best practice 70:20:10 solutions
  • Providing recommendations and developing solutions covering a wide area of capability design and development activities


  • Taking ownership of identified projects and processes and ensuring their success
  • Project managing the development and ongoing maintenance of a portfolio of learning solutions and content
  • Providing a high level of instructional design capability in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions
  • Developing and monitoring accessible training packages
  • Collaborating with and building productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all solutions remain effective, responsive and relevant to the Agency and all relevant learners and stakeholders
  • Undertaking procurement and co-ordination of training programs if required
  • Identifying, co-ordinating and managing training content and delivery by external providers as required
  • Managing and coaching less senior team members as required
  • Provide expert and strategic advice, assistance and support to the team's and other stakeholders as required


To be successful in the role, you will be:

  • A flexible approach will ensure you can quickly adapt to a changing environment and ensure risks profiles and mitigation activities remain current and appropriately monitored.
  • Ability to work within the team and adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Applicants with an understanding of, or experience in the field of disability will be highly regarded.
