Senior HR Business Partner job in Melbourne. We are looking for a HR generalist with management experience.

A fantastic Local Council that supports residents and businesses by developing infrastructure and offering opportunity to the community. Our client is looking for a senior Human Resources Business Partner to join a positive and friendly HR team and line manage 1x HR Business Partner .

Your new role
Working within a team environment and reporting to the People and Safety Lead, the role of Senior Human Resources Business Partner is to:

  • Partner with people leaders to develop strategies and policies to address people management issues and ensure a positive and efficient workplace
  • Identify ways to improve customer experience while working with people managers to ensure others are reaching their full potential
  • Engage with other business areas to understand their needs and provide them with information, advice and support in line with HR policies, priorities and practices
  • Ensure workplace safety is compliant and in place for all practices
  • Support and manage people through the employee lifecycle (inclusive of providing some assistance with the recruitment process)
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Negotiate and implement industrial agreements and investigate employee and industrial relations matters
  • Utilise people systems and analyse workforce data, completing workforce planning pieces when required

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced HR Business partner who holds a relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a similar area. You will have a strong customer focus to develop and deliver practical outcomes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen intently and communicate effectively with others. Having the ability to build strong partnerships and relationships is an essential part of the role. You must be an innovative problem solver with the ability to implement solutions. You will be able to coach, mentor and manage
