About the Opportunity

Ethos Urban is seeking an energetic and people centric Senior HR Consultant to join our People Support, Culture & Change team within a professional services business. This role will suit a dynamic and vibrant individual looking to manage end to end HR operations for a national business.

Located in the Sydney CBD, the ideal candidate will have experience working within a similar fast-paced environment. The candidate will have a strong background in HR working within medium sized companies, the ability to multi-task, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion for working in a high performing people orientated organisation. 

Key responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and want to join an organisation that is growing. Reporting to the Group Director, People Support, Culture & Change this role will be responsible for:

  • HR Advisory, providing expert advice to the Group Leadership team on employee matters, coaching, performance management, grievances, discipline, employee development, WHS, and investigations
  • Providing advice and support to the Group Functional Directors located across NSW, VIC and QLD with employment issues and analysis
  • Create and maintain HR policies and processes
  • Management of the HRIS system and outsourced Payroll system
  • Management and overseeing the recruitment processes including visa management
  • Developing and fostering a high performing culture
  • Building and maintaining relationships and becoming trusted adviser to Group Leadership Team and People Managers
  • Oversea the coordination and monitoring if variety administration functions to provide client focused delivery that complies with legislation and policy requirements
  • Project manager, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Providing adhoc HR reports as required
  • Incorporating and bringing to life the Employee Value Proposition

Over the first 12 months, the Senior HR Consultant will be responsible for helping the Group Director People Support, Culture & Change to drive and deliver the following key projects:

  • Learning and Development
  • Performance Assessment
  • Rewards and Recognition

Who we are looking for

This position would be suitable for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident in a stand alone HR capacity. You will champion a high performing workforce through the employee life cycle and developing initiatives that contribute to a positive culture and improve organisation effectiveness.   

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Psychology or HR (essential)
  • Previous work experience within a Professional Services environment (essential)
  • 7+ years within a HR generalist role
  • Ability to work in an agile environment able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage relationships across all levels within the business
  • Experience in policy and procedure writing
  • Experience in investigating and resolving employee disciplinary matters
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in maintain a HRIS platform (Bamboo HR) and outsourced Payroll (ADP) processing management
  • Proven track record in successfully implementing or assisted in the development of key HR projects
  • Knowledge of contemporary learning and development practices, strong process improvement, change management and project management skills.
