Temp job for a Senior Injury Management Consultant based in Mackay or Gladstone to July 2019, casual AO6 rate

Your new company
As part of a state-wide initiative, your new organisation is seeking a number of Senior Injury Management Consultants in regional areas across North Queensland. Due to growth and an increase in caseload, a 6 month temporary vacancy is available immediately until end of June 2019, with the view to extend.

Your new role
With a choice to be based in either Mackay or Gladstone, you will report into the Human Resources Manager. Your role is to provide leadership in the area of injury management and provide advice & consultancy services to a broad range of stakeholders. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Consultancy across 4 key areas, including: Complex Claims, Training, QSuper Income Protection, Workcover
  • Identifying and implementing injury management strategies
  • Providing leadership and coaching to Claims Officers, Rehabilitation and RTW Coordinators, as required
  • Monitoring compliance in conjunction with the relevant legislation

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position, a tertiary qualification is desirable however, you will be successful if you can display the following key attributes:

  • Strong Occupational Rehabilitation & Injury Management experience in a complex environment
  • Ability to lead and develop staff, provide technical support and liaise with stakeholders
  • A positive, professional and friendly manner

Willingness to submit to a criminal history check and valid C class driver's licence

You will be remunerated a competitive hourly rate in line with an AO6 level and the part-time nature of this vacancy (36.25 hours / fortnight) will offer you flexible working arrangements. You will be supported by a strong team and there is potential your assignment will be extended past 6 months, pending funding approval.
