Senior Learning and Development Specialist - Contract

Your new company
This is a leading government department with a high profile international presence. Our client is seeking to recruit a dedicated learning and development professional to join an innovative L&D team covering all areas of strategic policy, development and corporate services areas.

Your new role
As a Learning and Development Specialist, you will be responsible for providing strategic, high level learning and development policy advice and expertise to enable the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions. Your role will require you to develop new learning and development strategies and frameworks in line with departmental strategic priorities and link L&D strategies with workforce planning objectives. Your role will also require you to design and develop digital learning content, and competency based assessments supporting the blended learning philosophy. Further, you will be leading L&D projects and undertaking project planning, reporting and control activities.

Your key duties will include:

  • Undertaking learning needs analysis
  • Responsibility for the project management of learning needs analysis, stakeholder engagement, review, and providing recommendations in both verbal and written report format.
  • Linking learning and development strategies with workforce planning objectives
  • Providing strategic advice to enable the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions
  • Designing and developing best practice learning program content including workshops materials and case studies.
  • Designing instructor-led workshops including engaging with subject matter experts, writing content including facilitator guides, participant guides, slides and activities.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships to formulate and implement innovative learning solutions at a departmental and divisional level
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of learning using our Evaluation Framework, including providing written reporting.
  • Providing high level learning and development policy advice and expertise across the department.

What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience in analysis, design and delivery of successful eLearning solutions will see you thrive in this role. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficient knowledge of ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation) framework of learning program design, adult learning theories and principles and learning evaluation methodologies and techniques. Sound understanding of the development of accessible learning solutions and experience in managing high level stakeholder relationships and complex L&D projects also be required to succeed in the role.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Please note, this is security designated position and in order to be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and will be required to have or to be able to obtain a security clearance (NV1 or NV2).
