Your new role

As a Technical Writer and Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering comprehensive training materials for the AusCheck Service Gateway. Your responsibilities will include creating training development plans, conducting needs analysis, and developing both online and face-to-face courseware. You will also provide training sessions to APS staff, helping them maintain and update training materials. Additionally, you will mentor and coach staff, offering guidance on completing Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and using advanced instructional design techniques.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you should have:
  • Experience in Technical Writing and Training: Proven ability to create detailed training materials and deliver effective training sessions. This includes Training Development Plans, Needs Analysis, Strategy Documents and Course Administration.
  • Instructional Design Skills: Proficiency in using the ADDIE model and other instructional systems design techniques.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage and mentor staff, providing clear and concise guidance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in working with various stakeholders to develop and refine training materials.
  • Organisational Skills: Capability to manage multiple tasks, including course administration and training system development.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Frameworks: Understanding of aviation and maritime regulations and the ability to incorporate these into training modules.
