About the Opportunity

Due to a period of service expansion, MoneyMob Talkabout now has an exciting opportunity for a Trainer/Mentor - Pawa Atunmankunytjaku Project to join their team based in Alice Springs, NT on a full-time fixed term contract to 31 December 2022 with possibility of extension, involving frequent outreach travel to various communities within the APY Lands, Yalata and Oak Valley.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, supporting and retaining the local Anangu Energy Workers employed to support the Pawa Atunmankunytjaku Project.

About You

To be considered for this position you must have demonstrable experience in education and training, with a portion of your experience ideally spent working with Indigenous/Aboriginal communities (within Australia or overseas).

As you will be provided with relevant training in the energy efficiency sector, any experience in this space will be considered desirable, but not essential.

Please Note: This position requires frequent travel via 4WD vehicle from Alice Springs to APY lands, spending significant periods living away from home. To be eligible for consideration, you must hold a current manual Driver's License and be able to drive 4WD vehicles independently on remote roads. Employment will also be subject to a National Police Clearance and Working with Children check.

Pawa Atunmankunytjaku Project Overview In April 2020 MoneyMob was chosen by the SA Government as the successful tenderer to deliver The Future Sustainability and Education project - a project to provide energy education and support to Anangu Communities in Yalata, Oak Valley and the APY Lands. These communities are currently not charged for electricity supply, and the SA government intends to introduce charging from July 2021.
