Townsville based WHS management role in an expanding not for profit. Autonomous role within established team.

Your new company

This well known non-for-profit organisation is looking for an experienced safety manager to take the lead on WHS across the organisation. With their head office centrally located in Townsville, this organisation is in a growth phase and planning to increase their office based workforce significantly in the next 12 months.

Your new role

You will be responsible for promoting a positive Health and Safety culture across the organisation. Your role is pivotal in supporting managers with incident investigation and provide strategies to reduce the risk of further incidents. You will:

  • Actively manage workplace health and safety issues, including management systems, policies and procedures and legislative, regulatory and licensing requirements for the company across all branches in NQ
  • Develop the aims and objectives and drive the implementation of the WHS Strategic Plan and annual WHS plan
  • Act as 'primary contact person' for safety across the organisation for all stakeholders
  • Act as the Return to Work Coordinator & champion a proactive approach to injury prevention
  • Deliver WHS training and education programs


What you'll need to succeed

This position will suit you if you a passion for workign in the community services sector and have previous experience in a WHS leadership role. Your professional development and education record will reflect your passion for WHS and you will be valued for your stakeholder engagement skills and ability to deliver evidence based quality improvement programs including education & training.
