Your new company

This department is responsible for immigration and customs border policy. It also oversees national security and law enforcement policy, emergency management including crisis management and disaster recovery, countering terrorism policy and coordination, cybersecurity policy and coordination, countering foreign interference, critical infrastructure protection, multicultural affairs, countering violent extremism programs, and transport security.

Your new role

Seeking dedicated Learning and Development Officers at the APS5 and APS6 level to join a dynamic, new team. These roles are crucial in building a highly skilled and professional workforce.

At the APS5 level, what you'll need to succeed:

  • Support the analysis, design, and development of training programs.
  • Deliver basic training and learning packages in various settings.
  • Assess learner competency and provide constructive feedback.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and integrate continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Desirable: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, experience in virtual and face-to-face facilitation.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theories and principles.
  • Proficiency in digital learning platforms and eLearning software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality client service.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.

At the APS6 level, what you'll need to succeed:

  • Conduct training analysis, design, and development.
  • Manage and deliver complex training and learning packages.
  • Assess learner and trainer competency.
  • Evaluate training programs and integrate continuous improvement.
  • Initiate and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Desirable: Diploma in Training Design and Development, experience in virtual and face-to-face facilitation.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Advanced understanding of adult learning theories and principles.
  • Proficiency in digital learning platforms and eLearning software.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality client service.
