Your new role

As an APS6 HR Adviser specialising in Workplace Relations, you will work as part of a small team to deliver timely, consistent and strategic advice across a broad range of matters. This includes case management, performance and conduct, workplace conflict, and policy interpretation. You'll also collaborate closely with the WHS function to ensure a holistic approach to employee wellbeing and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice to managers and staff on workplace relations and employment conditions
  • Supporting case management involving misconduct, underperformance, and complaints
  • Interpreting and applying enterprise agreements, HR policies, and relevant legislation
  • Contributing to the development and review of workplace relations policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records and assisting in internal and external reporting
  • Building strong relationships across business areas to promote positive workplace outcomes

What you'll need to succeed

  • Sound knowledge of APS employment frameworks, legislation, and enterprise agreements and ability to apply knowledge to complex matters.
  • Strong analytical and advisory skills with the ability to interpret complex HR issues
  • Demonstrated experience in case management or employee relations
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Confidence in working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources or other relevant qualifications.
    AHRI membership (CPHR or working towards) highly regarded
  • Expert knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations and performance management
  • Minimum Baseline Security Clearance

All applicants must have Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
