Your new role

As an APS6 Performance & Code of Conduct Advisor, you will manage complex performance and conduct cases, provide expert advice to managers, and contribute to the development of policies and frameworks that support a high-performing and ethical workforce.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and advising on complex employee performance and conduct matters
  • Coordinating investigations and preparing documentation in line with the APS Code of Conduct and relevant legislation
  • Providing strategic advice to managers on performance management, misconduct, and behavioural concerns
  • Supporting the development and implementation of performance frameworks and capability-building initiatives
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and external investigators as required
  • Ensuring compliance with the Public Service Act, APS Values, and agency-specific policies

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing performance and conduct matters within the APS
  • Strong understanding of the APS Code of Conduct, Public Service Act, and related frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High-level analytical and documentation skills
  • A current Baseline security clearance or the ability to obtain one (highly desirable)
